Apple Event Recap: October 23, 2012

Today, Apple announced their latest and greatest products at a press conference held at the California Theatre in San Jose. This event was believed to be focussing on iPad and it indeed was, however we also saw some great upgrades to the Mac Line. In this post, I will be talking about everything that Apple announced.

Tim Cook began the day by talking about iPhone sales, and how it is off to a tremendous start. 5 Million devices sold on opening weekend! Its the fastest selling phone in history. The iPod line is also off to a great start with 3 Million devices sold between the nano and the new iPod Touch. Tim also went on to say that 200 Million devices are already running iOS 6. Thirty-five billion apps have been downloaded to date and Apple has paid out 6.5 Billion to developpers.

An update on iBooks is given. Over 1.5 Million books available, 400 Million downloaded to date.
New version of iBooks launched- continuous scrolling and better iCloud support. New sharing options such as quoting to Twitter, Facebook. More languages supported. Free download available today!

Apple sold 100th Million iPad two weeks ago! iPad takes up 91% of web traffic share on tablets. iBooks author updated with new widgets, layouts and math equations. Available for free download on Mac App store. iPad 3rd generation fastest selling all-time.
