Apple's iMessage, such as other data-based messaging apps, seem to have hit another milestone.
Mobile analyst Chetan Sharma published a report saying that texting was down in the third quarter of 2012; with users sending 678 texts per month, down from 696 texts per month for previous quarter. This doesn't surprise me because I would see why people are more attracted to the data-based messaging apps over actual texting. As you may or may not know, data is much cheaper compared to a texting plan that most of the people today have. With this decline for texting, I could that in the future, more and more iOS users will be attracted to this sort of texting service, instead of their carriers. People seem to like the convenience of iOS and iCloud wherever they go, and with the increasing number of iOS people everyday, we can see texting on carriers decline in the near future.
