The world waits for iPad mini!

For the last several months, we have all heard so many rumours, speculations and opinions about what the iPad mini was going to look like, perform like and feel like. This Friday, November 2nd, we will all get to find out. The 7.9" tablet is set to make its mark, launching Apple into the smaller tablet war for the first time. Being priced at $329.99 for the base 16GB model, many believe that Apple has made a very nice device but the price is too much. Apple had ots own opinion about that firing right back, first by Tim Cook, saying that they have priced this device agressively, but also Phil Schiller saying that the iPad mini is a far more advanced, user friendly device than any other tablet on the market. Being compared to the Kindle Fire HD by Amazon and the Nexus 7 from Google, the mini is right in the thick of the battle. On October 26th at midnight, iPad mini orders went live. Was there an extreme demand or an extreme shortage though because the white model sold out accross the globe in a matter of mere minutes, bumping back the availability to weeks after the initial date. The black model however held good stock and continues to do so. Amazon has reported to have record sales numbers since the announcement from Apple. At $329, this will not only allow Apple to compete with Amazon and Google, but it will also welcome the potential for many new iPad buyers who didn't want to dish out $500+ dollars. This device, although being priced slightly higher than expectations is still a very good bundle. With the iPad mini, you are getting a finely crafted device, with dual core power, very good camera capabilities, 4G LTE if wanted and a very large iOS ecosystem to please you. Meanwhile, Amazon and Google both offer devices with better screen qualities at cheaper price-points, but they lack the camera performance, App Store selection and the beautiful design that the iPad provides. In the end, it all comes down to you. Would you rather pay $200 and get a decent tablet that does the basic things or would you be better off just paying $130 more to get something you know will be up to high standards. The Appleinvestigator team believes that Apple produces devices that provide the consumer with a user experience way above other companies. Although SAmsung may produce good devices, in the end, we gotta hand it to Apple because what they manage to make truly is significant, and no wonder they make so much money.
