iPad Mini Event: October 23rd, 2012

This Tuesday, October 23rd, Apple will be holding a special event at the California Theatre, where it is believed they will reveal the much anticipated iPad Mini tablet. This will be an iPad that is smaller than the regular iPad, sporting a 7.85″ display. Now, why would Apple introduce such a product, when the regular iPad is so successful? Well its simple. Apple wants to eat up the smaller tablet market share which is currently lead by the Amazon Kindle Fire HD. It is going to be a device that is much more affordable for people who do not want to pay for the full priced iPad with Retina Display which was announced this past March. This device will be coming in at around $275-$400, depending on the configuration. What will this device have? Well for the cheaper price, it certainly wont have a retina display, but probably more something like what the iPad 2 has. In terms of processing power, we’re going to be looking at potentially an A5X chip. It will also be welcoming Apple’s brand new lightning connector which replaced the ancient 30-pin. Apart from that, we don’t know much more. It will surely be running the new iOS 6 operating system but that’s all we know. What else will we be seeing at this event? Well, Mac fans will be happy to know that a 13″ Macbook Pro with Retina display will be making its landing. This is a smaller version of the 15″ model which was announced at WWDC in June. Apple called it the most beautiful computer they ever made. It is also believed that we may see updates to the Mac mini line, as well as the iMac, which has been waiting for its long awaited update. It was reported that it may be getting a new tear-drop design with a slimmer display. Your probably asking, will it come in Retina? Well that would be stunning wouldn’t it, we will have to wait and see. So I hope your all excited for this event as much as I am. I will be doing a recap here with everything that goes down so be sure to bookmark my page.
